We have different periods throughout life with hormonal influences and hormonal changes are a normal part of aging. As we age, the levels of certain hormones have a significant impact in the body as they decrease, leading to various symptoms and health conditions.

Hormones can also affect the skin by influencing inflammation levels. For example, the hormone cortisol, which is released in response to stress, can lead to inflammation, which can contribute to the development of conditions such as acne and eczema.

Hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone are also involved in regulating mood, sleep and behavior. They can affect cognitive function, memory, and emotions.

Hormones can also affect the growth and health of hair. For example, an imbalance of thyroid hormones can lead to hair loss, while an imbalance of androgens (such as testosterone) can lead to excessive hair growth on certain parts of the body.

Hormones also have an impact on skin health and appearance. For example, estrogen plays a role in collagen production, which helps keep the skin firm and elastic, while progesterone can lead to dryness and thinning of the skin. In addition, the skin’s oil production is also regulated by hormones such as testosterone, which can lead to acne and other skin conditions.
